eSIM Compatible Devices

A comprehensive list of eSIM-compatible devices from major brands as of 2026.

When traveling to China, an eSIM data plan might be the first thing you need after landing — even more important than cash, since mobile payments, maps, ride-hailing, and food delivery all depend on internet access. But here is the question: does your phone support eSIM?

Not every phone supports eSIM. Some brands only enable it on specific models or in certain regions, and domestic (China) versions may differ from international ones. This guide clears it all up.

How to Check If Your Phone Supports eSIM Before You Go

The easiest method: dial *#06# and press the call button. If your screen shows an EID number, your device supports eSIM. If nothing appears or only a generic prompt shows up, it most likely does not.

You can also check under Settings → About Phone for an EID field, or look at the specs on your phone’s box.

Important: Even if your model appears in the list below, make sure your device is not carrier-locked (SIM Lock). Carrier-locked phones may not be able to add a third-party eSIM.

Apple / iPhone

iPhone has some of the most comprehensive eSIM support. The following models all support eSIM:

  • iPhone 17e / iPhone Air
  • iPhone 17 / 17 Pro / 17 Pro Max
